The BSA program requires a minimum of 123 credit hours.
Bloch School courses are offered either during the day or at night.
Freshman/Sophomore Years: General Education Requirements
Humanities – 12 credit hours
These courses include public speaking and English I and II.
Natural Sciences – 8 credit hours
These courses can include biology, chemistry, geology, astronomy, earth sciences, environmental sciences, physical sciences and physics. One laboratory component is required.
Social Sciences – 6 credit hours
These courses can include psychology, sociology, criminal justice, history or political science. Three credit hours of this total must cover the U.S. and Missouri constitutions.
Basic Skills Requirement – 24 credit hours
These courses include selections from accounting, economics, and math, and are designed to give you the skills you need to complete the BSA’s core requirements in your junior and senior years.
Non-Business Electives - 4 credit hours
These courses can include computer science, a foreign language—whatever will be helpful in your career that is not specifically a business course.
Fine Arts Requirement - 3 credit hours
These courses can include completion of Art 110 or 110P, Environmental Design 110, Theater 130 or 210 or Conservatory 120.
Before being admitted to the junior/senior portion of the program, you must pass Microsoft Specialist Certification exams in both Excel and PowerPoint.
Junior/Senior Years: Accounting specifics
Core Requirements – 66 credit hours
This is where you put the Basic Skills Requirement to work. Your core requirements include advanced accounting, financial and strategic management, and auditing.
