SBTDC Overview

University of Missouri-Kansas City's Small Business & Technology Development Center is part of a nationwide network of SBTDC programs. SBTDCs offer one-stop assistance to individuals and small businesses by providing a wide variety of information and guidance in central and easily accessible branch locations.

We are affiliated with UMKC's Bloch School of Business and Public Administration and the Missouri SBDC.

The Missouri Small Business Development Centers provide counseling to both established businesses and those that are just beginning. Counseling topics include business plan development, financial management, marketing, international trade, franchising, licensing, inventory and more.

Training program topics include start-up, business plans, accounting, cash flow, management and marketing.

Information and technology resources include computerized patent, trademark and copyright searches; exporting leads; product design, testing and quality control; manufacturing studies; and plant layout.

Each year, the MO SBTDC network works with more than 2,000 clients. Most counseling services are offered at no charge.
