John Deadwyler is president of The Bernard Consulting Group, Inc., a UMKC adjunct professor and a Senior Fellow of the Midwest Center for Nonprofit Leadership.

Before becoming a private consultant, Deadwyler gained 20 years experience with Marion Merrell Dow, a global pharmaceutical company.  He most recently served as vice president of Corporate Community Affairs, was president of the Marion Merrell Dow Foundation and served as a member of the Senior Management Committee. He also served as president and CEO of the Scientific Education Partnership, a public/private partnership to establish Kansas City as a regional center of excellence in basic research.

John is currently the president of the Board of Directors of the Edgar Snow Memorial Fund and has served on the Board of Directors of Genesis School, The Learning Exchange, Science Pioneers, the Consumer Health Information Research Institute and the St. Luke's Hospital Foundation.
