The Human Resources Landscape for Kansas City Nonprofits: Compensation, Benefits, and the Implications of the Affordable Care Act
The UMKC Midwest Center for Nonprofit Leadership, in partnership with Support Kansas City, Nonprofit Connect, the Executive Service Corps of Greater Kansas City, and the Kansas City Society of Association Executives, would like to invite you to this special half-day workshop.
Date: June 26, 2014 from 7:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. (7:15 a.m. registration and continental breakfast)
The first half of the workshop will be led by David Renz and Scott Helm of the UMKC Midwest Center for Nonprofit Leadership who will give a first look at key trends and highlights on salary and benefits as reported in the 2014 Salary & Benefits Survey of Greater Kansas City Regional Nonprofit Organizations & Associations. In addition to comparisons to regional and nonprofit trends, participants will leave with a basic framework for making decisions about compensation for their agencies.
The second half of the workshop will be conducted by the United States Department of Labor-Employee Benefits Security Administration on the Affordable Care Act (ACA). The presentation will cover major components of the Affordable Care Act including the Marketplace, SHOP, and protections included in the ACA. The workshop will include useful information that will help your organization comply with the ACA, as well as where and how to get additional information and assistance with particular issues such as HIPAA, COBRA and other ACA requirements.

Location: The workshop will be held on the campus of the University of Missouri - Kansas City (UMKC) in the auditorium of the Bloch Executive Hall (5108 Cherry Street, Kansas City Missouri 64110).
Parking Instructions: Park on the 5th or 6th level of the UMKC Cherry Street Parking Garage (located at East 50th Street between Oak Street and Cherry Street). We have arranged for campus police not to ticket this area during the event so there is no need to pay the meters at this location.
