David A. Stallings, CPA, MPA David Stallings is a Senior Fellow with the Midwest Center for Nonprofit Leadership at the University of Missouri - Kansas City. In this capacity, he provides consulting and research services to nonprofit organizations in the six state area. His consulting services include fiscal reviews of nonprofit boards and organizations, board education and training in board governance, organizational development, strategic planning and fund development. From 1975 to 1999, David was a practicing Certified Public Accountant, retiring as Managing Shareholder of Marks, Stallings and Campbell, CPAs, one of the largest locally owned CPA firms in the Kansas City area. His professional focus was on litigation services, fraud and embezzlement investigations, business valuations along with the other traditional accounting, tax and auditing services. Concurrent with his professional career, David was and remains actively involved with a wide variety of nonprofit organizations including Hope House, Safehome, ReStart Homeless Shelter, The Domestic Violence Coalition, Wayside Waifs Animal Shelter, and many others. He is a graduate of Leadership Overland Park, and Leadership Kansas. David has been an active member, since 1983, of the Overland Park Rotary Club, serving as club treasurer, co-founder of the Youth Leadership Institute, president of The Overland Park Rotary Club Foundation Board of Trustees and many other avenues of “service above self.” David has a Bachelor of Science in Finance from the University of Missouri – Columbia, a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Southeast Missouri State University and a Master in Public Administration in Nonprofit Leadership from the University of Missouri - Kansas City. |
