Gary Baker
Senior Fellow, Bloch School Midwest Center for Nonprofit Leadership
Ph.D., University of Missouri-Kansas City

Gary Baker holds an MPA in Healthcare Administration and a Ph.D. in Public Affairs from UMKC. He is also a graduate of the Senior Executives program at Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government, State and Local Program. Baker was a successful CEO for over 20 years and is the current Director of Community Building Initiatives for the UMKC Bloch School’s nationally ranked Midwest Center for Nonprofit Leadership. Baker is an expert in nonprofit leadership, high performing boards and CEO performance. He is active on many civic boards and councils.

Lee Bolman
Marion H. Bloch/Missouri Endowed Chair in Leadership
Ph.D., Yale University

Lee Bolman is known around the world as a scholar, consultant, lecturer and author of cases, articles and more than a dozen books on leadership and organizations, including the bestseller, Leading with Soul. He consults and lectures worldwide to Fortune 100 corporations, public agencies, and universities. Bolman is the winner of a national teaching award and has been included on lists of America's leading business thinkers.

Qing Cao
Associate Professor of Management Information Systems
Ph.D., University of Nebraska

Qing Cao is the recipient of the 2005 UMKC Trustees’ Faculty Fellowship Award Winner for his accomplishments in research and creative accomplishments. An expert in supply chain information management and artificial intelligence applications, Cao is the author of one book and 4 book chapters, over 14 national journal articles, and over 30 national conference proceedings.

Stephen A. DeLurgio
Professor of Operations Management
Ph.D., St. Louis University

Stephen DeLurgio, previously an electromechanical design/project engineer, is author of four books on forecasting, forecasting systems, and management science, co-author of Excel™ forecasting software, and developed the website http://forecast.umkc.edu for forecasting and OM resources. DeLurgio is the winner of several research awards and author of the popular textbook, “Forecasting Principles and Applications” (Irwin/Mc-Graw Hill).

David Donnelly
Professor of Accountancy and Chair, Department of Accountancy
Ph.D., University of Illinois

David Donnelly has extensive experience in public accounting and auditing, and regularly serves as a consultant and expert witness on accounting issues. He has authored more than 20 national and international journal articles, and is the winner of numerous teaching and research awards.

O. Homer Erekson
Dean and Harzfeld Professor of Economics & Business Policy
Ph.D., University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill

Homer Erekson is the recipient of the Instructional Innovation Award from the Decision Sciences Institute and was a Lilly Postdoctoral Teaching Fellow. He has presented at conferences and workshops all over the world, and is active on several boards and councils. Erekson is a Trustee of the Missouri Council on Economic Education, Co-chair of the Economic Forecast Advisory Board for the Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce, and on the Board of Directors for the Economic Club of Kansas City.

Fred Hays
Carl W. Allendoerfer Professor of Banking and Finance
Ph.D., Louisiana State University

Fred Hays is the author of numerous articles in finance and economics, specifically in the area of banking management. He is the recipient of several teaching and research awards, and is a Credit Research Foundation Fellow.

Doranne Hudson
Executive in Residence and Visiting Instructor
M.B.A., Harvard University

Doranne Hudson's corporate experience includes 23 years of marketing and general management at the Gillette Company and Hallmark Cards, where she was a senior vice-president and a corporate officer. Her research, teaching and consulting work include organizational influence and political agility, leader self-awareness and development, networks and social capital, leading change, strategic communication, and leader values.

David R. Kuipers
Assistant Professor of Finance
Ph.D., University of Missouri-Columbia

David Kuipers is an expert on the pricing of U.S. Treasury securities and has multiple publications in the leading journal in the field. Kuipers is the recipient of three national research paper awards.

Karyl Leggio
Associate Dean for Academic Programs; Associate Professor of Finance
Ph.D., University of Kansas

Dr. Leggio’s primary area of research is in deregulating industries, specifically in the area of risk management. She has published in numerous journals and is regularly asked to present her research at international conferences. She is also an active researcher in the areas of real options, corporate restructuring, mergers, and individual risk management. Leggio has won numerous teaching awards and is the recipient of many grants.  

Clancy Martin
Assistant Professor of Philosophy
Ph.D., University of Texas-Austin     

Clancy Martin is author or editor of numerous books focusing on business ethics and the history of morality, including the business ethics textbooks Honest Work and Above the Bottom Line. He is the author of more than thirty articles, translations and reviews. He founded or co-founded several entrepreneurial ventures, including the Quikset Company and others. Martin regularly consults and provides programs in business ethics for corporations and organizations around the world. He is also the author of a forthcoming novel, How to Sell, which will appear in German, Italian, Spanish, French, Chinese and other languages. He is one of "The Ethics Professors" on NPR's Walt Bodine Show.

 Mark E. Parry
Ewing M. Kauffman/Missouri Endowed Chair in Entrepreneurial Leadership and Professor of Marketing
Ph.D., University of Texas at Dallas

Mark Parry is an internationally known and respected scholar in the areas of innovation, new product launch strategies and entrepreneurship. Parry has designed and delivered executive education programs for a variety of companies, including Allied Signal, Coca-Cola, Ingersoll-Rand, and Milliken.  Parry has authored several books on strategic marketing and he and co-author Michael Song are the recipients of the 2005 Excellence in Global Marketing Research Award by the American Marketing Association.   

Michael Song

Ph.D., University of Virginia


Michael Song has been honored as the World’s No. 1 Innovation Management Scholar. He is one of the most cited scientists and economists, and one of the most prolific researchers in management of technology. He has conducted research and consulted with over 300 major multinational companies and government agencies; consulting projects include evaluating R&D projects using real options, new venture strategies and evaluation, and designing product innovation processes. Song has assisted in creating several new ventures in high-tech industries, and he and co-author Mark Parry are the recipients of the 2005 Excellence in Global Marketing Research Award by the American Marketing Association
.  

 

Marilyn Taylor
Arvin Gottlieb/Missouri Endowed Chair of Strategic Management
D.B.A., Harvard University 

Marilyn Taylor is a well-recognized author and co-author on numerous books , articles, and cases on  strategic  management . Her research interests are in the area of entrepreneurs and philanthropy, internationalization processes, and service-learning pedagogy. She has been the initiating Faculty Director for several programs including the Bloch School Executive MBA, the UMKC/Intiative for a Competitive Inner City-Kansas City, and Students in the City (SITC). She is currently Department Chair of the FIMS Department (Finance, MIS, International/Operations/Strategic Management, and Management Science).
