Application Information & FormsThe Bloch Executive MBA is designed for experienced professionals on an executive career path. Typically, successful applicants have a minimum of eight years of work experience coupled with progressive management experience. Admission decisions are based on a combination of a solid academic record, demonstrated professional achievement, and a strong commitment to success. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis; class size is limited. The Bloch Executive MBA Admissions Committee will only act on completed applications. A completed application includes the following: Application FormComplete the application form and return it to the Bloch Executive MBA Program office. You may submit the form by mail, fax, or deliver it to the Executive MBA program office at the Bloch School, located at 5110 Cherry Street, Suite 217, Kansas City, MO, 64110. Application FeeThe application for admission must be accompanied by $50.00 in the form of a check or money order payable to "UMKC Bloch Executive MBA Program." For payment by credit card, please call Tusha Kimber, Academic Coordinator, at 816-235-5773. The application fee is nonrefundable. TranscriptsOfficial transcripts from each college or university attended must be sent directly from the college or university registrar to the Bloch Executive MBA Program Office. If you attended a college or university under a different name, ask the registrar to note the name change on your transcript or in a letter. Letters of RecommendationAs you complete the process for acceptance to the Bloch Executive MBA program, letters of recommendation are important in evaluating your qualification. You are required to submit two letters. Please request a recommendation letter from a business associate such as your manager, supervisor or a member of your company’s Board of Directors. You will also need an additional letter from another business associate, such as a previous supervisor, CEO or board member in or outside your company. Avoid requesting letters from personal friends or former professors; information from people who have worked with you is most valuable. For your recommendation letter, the colleagues you select should be able to comment on the following:
Ask your contacts to submit the recommendation on the company letterhead, directed to “To Whom It May Concern.” The letter should include the signature and the phone, fax or e-mail address of the recommender. The letter should be sent to:
Candidate's Admission StatementOne essay (minimum 500 words) will help the Admissions Committee understand your motivation for applying to the Bloch Executive MBA Program. Please address: 1) your personal and professional objectives and how the Bloch Executive MBA program can help you achieve those objectives, and 2) how your participation in the program will add value to the learning of your cohorts. |
