Lanny Solomon is the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs at the Bloch School, handling many internal matters related to curriculum, faculty, students, and general operations. He also teaches in the cost/management area for the Department of Accountancy. Solomon received a B.S. in Business from Miami (Ohio) University, and an MBA and Ph.D. from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland. He is a Certified Management Accountant (C.M.A.).

Solomon enjoys conducting studies in a variety of areas related to cost/managerial accounting as well as in accounting education. His latest contribution is entitled: “Technology and the Accounting Curriculum: Where It Is and Where It Needs to Be.”

Solomon has been nominated for and/or won a variety of teaching awards at the local and state levels. Additionally, he has twice been nominated by top accounting graduates for inclusion in Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers. He has presented numerous papers at accounting conferences and, over the years, has co-authored nine accounting textbooks as well as a variety of teaching supplements. Solomon’s articles have been published in a variety of academic and practitioner journals including Advances in Accounting, The Accounting Review, Cost and Management, The Journal of Accountancy, and The Tax Executive.
