William R. Keeton is a finance instructor at the Henry W. Bloch School of Management at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. He received his Ph.D. in economics from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and his masters and undergraduate degrees in economics from Yale University.
Prior to joining the Bloch School, Keeton served as an assistant vice president and economist for the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City, where he headed the Payment Systems Research Group. He also served as chair of the System Research Committee on Financial Structure and Regulation and, with another Federal Reserve Bank colleague, developed the Kansas City Financial Stress Index, which is published monthly.
Keeton has taught undergraduate and graduate economics at Yale University, and has been published in trade publications including Economic Review and the Journal of Law and Economics.
