LaVern Krueger is Interim Department Chair and Associate Professor of Accounting with instructional responsibilities which focus on external financial reporting of corporate, governmental, and other non-profit entities. Krueger received a B.S. from University of Wisconsin - Whitewater, an MSBA from the University of Denver, and DBA from the University of Colorado. Krueger is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Missouri Society of CPAs, as well as past president of the Kansas City Chapter of the Institute of Management Accountants.

Krueger’s current research focuses on recent and proposed financial accounting standards of the Financial Accounting Standards Board and the Governmental Accounting Standards Board.

Krueger has presented financial reporting updates for the Association of Government Accountants, the American Society of Women Accountants, and the Missouri Society of CPAs. A recent presentation to the Institute of Management Accountants focused upon the relationship between the Delphi Corporation bankruptcy and the financial difficulties of General Motors, with specific focus on reporting for pensions and other postretirement benefits.
