Stephen DeLurgio is a Professor of Operations Management at the Henry W. Bloch School of Business and Public Administration at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. DeLurgio received a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from University of Missouri-Rolla and an MBA and Ph.D. in Business Administration with a major in Management Science from St. Louis University. In addition, he is a Certified Fellow of Production and Inventory Management (CFPIM) and a Credit Research Foundation Fellow. He maintains a Web site in support of his teaching and research activities from which millions of documents have been downloaded.
DeLurgio teaches, researches, and consults in OM, Forecasting Methods, Econometrics, MARIMA, Neural Networks, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Forecasting Systems, TQM, and Six Sigma. He is the author of several books including Quantitative Methods for Business Decisions, Forecasting Systems for Operations Management, and Forecasting Principles and Applications, this last book is available in three editions and/or languages. In addition, he is an author/coauthor of three chapters and associate editor of the 3rd edition of the Handbook of Production and Inventory Control, McGraw-Hill, (1997). His publications have appeared in many international journals. DeLurgio’s publications have appeared in the Journal of Production and Inventory Management, Journal of the Operational Research Society, and International Journal of Production Research among others.
DeLurgio was a member of the international Curriculum and Certification Council of APICS for five years, chaired and was a member of the international CPIM Inventory Management Committee for five and 11 years respectively, a member of the international CIRM Logistics Committee for 4 years. He is a member of the editorial committee of the Journal of Production and Inventory Management. At UMKC he has twice won the outstanding teaching award and twice won the outstanding research award. DeLurgio is listed in “Who's Who in the US,” “American Education,” and “Finance and Industry," and other distinctions.
