The L.P. Cookingham Institute offers two fellowship programs for students interested in pursuing their Masters in Public Administration and have an interest in urban related issues. These programs are in addition to graduate research assistantships.
Community Development Work Study Program
Each year, three fellowships are awarded to minority students pursuing their Masters in Public Administration in urban affairs. Students are placed in a new local agency each semester engaged in urban development, leadership, or other related issue. Students receive a stipend and a tuition remission as well as monthly networking opportunities at local community development events. For more information, email the department at silveiras@umkc.ed .
Peace Corps Fellows/USA Program
Returning Peace Corps volunteers can apply to become a fellow in the Department of Public Affairs at the Bloch School of Business and Public Administration. Fellows receive tuition remission, a $9,000 yearly stipend over three semesters, and a $1,000 educational stipend for books and materials. In addition, Fellows are connected to local agency partners and can enroll in two of the Bloch school's certificate programs. For more information, click here >>
