LEWIS WHITE REAL ESTATE CENTER - SPEAKER SERIES PRESENTS - William Poorvu- November 19th at the Central Public Library at 6:30 pm....
KC Skyline

Welcome to the Lewis White Real Estate Center
bringing the art and science of real estate to life.

The Lewis White Real Estate Center (White Center) at the Bloch School is the only comprehensive center for formal real estate education in the Kansas City area. Students study in a collaborative environment involving direct engagement with the real estate community to learn about the theoretical and applied aspects of real estate. The Center provides a strong hands-on learning experience in Kansas City own Urban laboratory.

UMKC stands firmly behind the White Center and we look forward to the continued involvement of faculty, staff, students, real estate professionals and the community in growing this important resource.
-Gail Hackett, PhD, UMKC Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs

November 19th - William Poorvu
"Cycles, Crisis and Character"
Kansas City Central Library at 6:30 pm
We are honored to present Harvard professor William Poorvu for an interesting presentation on the current economic crisis:  how it was driven by financial excesses, real estate speculation and its predictability. He will discuss how these man-made economic disasters occur in ten year cycles based on our five year memory span. In addition, he will discuss the implications a system that rewards short term speculative behavior in the real estate and market investing has on the broader economy.

“The Lewis White Real Estate Center is already enjoying great success in the Kansas City real estate community, and we look forward to the program’s growth over the next few years. Having local experts eager to participate in the coursework makes our curriculum more valuable, and the impact on our community is already evidenced by the fact that our students are being hired by new and existing real estate firms.”
