Studying abroad is one of the best paths to increasing global and intercultural awareness, developing self confidence in unfamiliar settings, and distinguishing yourself to potential employers.
There are many opportunities for Bloch School students to study abroad:
Short courses (plus pre- or post-trip excursions)
The Bloch School since 1989 has offered study abroad courses that are less than a full semester in duration. These courses require classroom instruction at the Bloch School both before and after the trip abroad. Courses are designed to fit into the time and budget constraints of our students.
In May 2012 we are offering five courses: London, Hong Kong, Paris, Beijing, and Cape Town:
Preliminary dates:
London--May 12-18 (pre-trip May 9-11)
Hong Kong--May 13-19 (pre-trip May 10-12)
Paris--May 19-25 (post-trip May 26-28)
Beijing--May 20-26 (post-trip May 27-29)
Cape Town--May 13-18 (post-trip May 19-21)
Each is three hours elective credit. It is possible to earn six hours credit by combining two trips.
There are also short pre-trip or post-trip excursions offered with each program
London--a pre-trip adventure to Dublin (May 9-11).
Hong Kong--a pre-trip visit to Bangkok (May 9-11).
Paris--an exciting post-trip excursion to Amsterdam and surrounding areas (May 26-28).
Beijing--a trip to amazing Shanghai (May 27-29).
Cape Town--excursion to a South African game preserve (May 19-21).
These are described in the materials on each course below. There is an additional fee for each pre- or post trip plus hotel, transportation, food and entrance fees.

Class Meeting Dates/Times for 2012 trips:
The first organizational meeting for all classes will be in on Saturday, February 11 from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm.
The 3-4 other meetings will be held throughout the spring semester. This site will be updated as dates are determined.

One additional meeting will take place in the summer semester after the trips. These meeting dates will be discussed in class.

Attendance at all class sessions is expected; however if you find that you cannot make one of the meetings, please notify the faculty member as soon as possible.
