Amanda Burge, BBA ‘06, has been named assistant vice president and portfolio manager of the trust and wealth management division at Blue Ridge Bank and Trust Company.

Michael Campo, EMBA ’01, was named one of Ingram’s “Top 40 Under 40”. Campo is a senior vice president and unit manager at Lockton and has worked in the property & casualty industry for 17 years. Campo told Ingram’s Magazine that he takes every opportunity to give back to the community through his company.

Dr. Cathy Carroll, MBA ‘92, was recently elected by several of her professional colleagues to lead the Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy. Carroll has served as a member and chair of the Schools of Pharmacy Relations Committee for several years and in 2005, was elected as the national Treasurer for the Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy.

Karen Daniel, MS ’81, CFO of Black & Veatch was recently elected as a member of the board at Black & Veatch, according to the Kansas City Business Journal. Daniel joined Black & Veatch in 1992 and was promoted to CFO in 1999.

Teri Ann Drake, MBA ’99, was recently promoted to senior vice president of creative and was appointed a corporate officer of Hallmark, Inc. Previously, Drake served as vice president of creative and will now provide leadership for all of Hallmark’s creative functions.

Chuck Finch, MBA ‘86, has joined Alvarez & Marshal, a leading independent global professional services firm, as a Managing Director and Head of the new Kansas City office. Finch has over 25 years of experience in business management and consulting.

Katie Kwo Gerson, MBA ‘91, is currently heading up one of Kansas City’s largest fundraisers, Jazzoo, the Kansas City Zoo’s annual fundraiser. Gerson has served on the board of the Community Blood Center and the Children’s Center for the Visually Impaired.

Robert Bryan Harbison, MBA ’99, circulation finance manager of The Kansas City Star for the past 2 1/2 has been promoted to chief financial officer, according to The Star. Harbison joined the newspaper in 1995 as assistant controller.

Fred Heese, MBA ’97, will take over as acting chief financial examiner for the state of Missouri’s insurance solvency and company regulation division, according to the NU Online News Service. Heese was formerly audit manager for the State of Missouri’s Department of Insurance.

Jan Kauk, EMBA ’06, current executive director of the Northland Community Foundation, is serving her second one-year term as president of the North Kansas City School Board. Previously, she was chair of the steering committee that founded the Assistance League in 1983 and she led a group that evolved into SafeHaven, a shelter for battered wives and children.

Pam Linwood, Professional Direct Marketing Certificate ’93, has received the Kansas City Direct Marketing Association’s 2007 Direct Marketer of the Year Award. Linwood is an immediate past member of the Bloch School Alumni Board.

Michelle Long, MBA ’00, owner of M. Long Consulting LLC in Lee’s Summit, has been awarded the 2007 Financial Services Champion of the Year award by the Kansas City District Office of the U.S. Small Business Administration, according to the Kansas City Star. Long is an adjunct professor of entrepreneurship at Johnson Country Community College and teaches accounting and strategic management courses at UMKC.

David Miles, MBA ’04, was named one of Ingram’s “Top 40 Under 40”. According to Ingram’s Magazine, at 30 years old, Miles was named president of the H&R Block Foundation. While continuing to preside over the Foundation, Miles and his wife Jennifer have created a partnership between the Kearny School District and the University of Missouri-Columbia College of Education to develop classroom teaching techniques.

Dr. John Sellars, MPA ‘86, has resigned as President of Drury University. Sellars was formerly senior vice president for institutional advancement at Syracuse University.

Todd Smith, BBA ’91, was named one of Ingram’s “Top 40 Under 40”. At 26, Smith started his own company, Teneron Corporation, which built software products for small businesses. In 2002 he partnered with an engineer to create X-Com Systems. Through this business venture, he develops defense technologies under contract with the Navy, according to Ingram’s Magazine.
